Monday's Momma Munchies: Peanut Butter

Happy Monday’s Momma’s Munchies, ladies! When it comes to pregnancy cravings, we’ve got you covered with fun, unique ways to satisfy those hankerings. Last week we introduced four ways to eat pickles and this week we’re excited to tackle nine ways to eat peanut butter with every meal. Peanut butter is an interesting craving, as it provides both necessary sodium and protein to both yourself and your baby. While it’s recently been questioned if eating peanut butter is healthy during pregnancy, OBG-YN’s in a report with BabyCenter found no reason to be concerned and nothing against it has been found by the Food & Drug Administration. Still, if you’re cautious but still getting these cravings, feel free to substitute peanut butter with a variety of other nut based butters such as almond, cashew and walnut butters, or with seed based creations including sunflower seed and cashew butters.

Without any more to-do, here’s our top ways to eat peanut butter with every meal:

Breakfast:

pancakes6

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Pancakes by Fit Foodie Finds

Want to start your day off feeling great and healthy? These three ingredient pancakes are actually made using peanut flower, two eggs and a banana! Not only are these super easy to make with ingredients you can find at home, but they include 16 grams of protein from just the peanut flower alone! Holy healthy mole! When paired with a peanut flower/almond milk topping, or good ol’ peanut butter and chocolate chips, you can feel satisfied without any of the guilt with this awesome breakfast meal.

frenchtoast-5

Crispy Chocolate Peanut Butter French Toast by How Sweet Eats

Hello, gorgeous! We can’t help but fall in love with the look and taste of these amazing french toast slices here at the PinkBlush offices, and this is definitely a meal your pregnancy cravings will thank you for! Crunchy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, this can be your reason for getting out of bed on the weekends, or even better, staying under the covers for some breakfast in bed!

Protein Packed PB & Banana Hemp Oatmeal by Unprocessed People

Oatmeal on its own can be a great breakfast, but often times it’s unfortunately placed in prepackaged serving sizes with a variety of unnatural sugars and flavors. With just a few minutes, you can get out of the instant oatmeal rut with this amazing protein packed peanut butter and banana hemp oatmeal.

Lunch

Cucumber Noodles In Peanut Sauce by A House In The Hills

Ever love something so much you wish you could drink it? Well, this may be the closest thing to achieving that outside of having a smoothie. This cucumber noodle recipe in peanut sauce is the perfect amount of healthy salty heavenliness to keep you feeling satisfied through dinner.

Toasty-Bacon-Fluffernutters-I-howsweeteats.com-3-2

Toasted Bacon Fluffernutters by How Sweet Eats

Sometimes, there’s nothing better than a classic peanut butter sandwich with a large cold cup of milk. Other times, you realize how wrong it was to be having basic pb sandwhiches when this recipe exists! The perfect mix of comfort, crunchy and sweet, these toasted bacon flufenutters are a recipe you need to try at least once when your peanut butter cravings hit.

bicycle-spring-rolls-6

Bicycle Spring Rolls by The Garum Factory

Craving something crispy, fried, and salty? Look no further than these peanut butter bicycle spring rolls. They’re the perfect way to get your crispy fix while still eating nutritious food. Made with a mix of brown rice, carrots, mushrooms, green beans and more, these will satisfy your cravings without any of the fried-food guilt after.

Dinner:

crockpot

Crockpot Lettuce Wraps with Peanut Sauce by Half Baked Harvest

Craving something light yet satisfying? These crockpot lettuce wraps are great for nights you want to stay away from the breads and pick up the veggies. With just 25 minutes of prep time, you can start cooking these delicious wraps in the morning, and by the time you’re ready for dinner, you should be able to smell this divine dish anywhere in your house. Perfect for an effortless dinner, these make great left overs and you’ll become hooked on their peanut sauce!

Thai-Peanut-Chicken-and-Ramen-Noodle-Soup-1

Thai Peanut Chicken & Ramen Noodle Soup by Half Baked Harvest

Yumminess in a bowl, or otherwise known as glorified ramen, this thai peanut chicken and ramen noodle soup is perfect year round for dinner. In this ramen soup, the peanut butter base takes center stage, and when paired with chicken and spices, adds the perfect mix to make this a hearty meal.

peanut-butter-and-jelly-chicken-wings-600-450

Peanut Butter & Jelly Chicken Wings by The Black Peppercorn

Yes, you read that correctly: peanut butter and jelly chicken wings. For this recipe, grape juice and vinegar are mixed to make a glaze which the wings are marinated in for a juicy citrus sweet flavor, before being cooked in the oven for a nutty, sweet, crunchy taste. Feel adventurous with this dish that is perfect for sharing with friends and loved ones!

Get into the Spring Of Things: Scalloped Dresses

DSC_00241

Too often springtime dresses are reserved for floral prints and maxi cuts, but limiting your wardrobe to just these styles prevents you from truly blossoming your wardrobe to all of the fun unique styles that are available. One of our favorite non-traditional springtime dresses at the season comes in the form of scalloped trimmings. Feminine, flattering and just the slightest hint of a floral design, scalloped dresses are great for any event on your social calendar providing a fitted flare style that hugs your bust and mid waist before flaring out for a timeless classic cut.

We’re currently obsessing over the colors with this white grey abstract print scalloped dress, but for a red-hot look, our magenta grey abstract printed scalloped dress has you covered!

Monday's Munchies: Celebrating National Chips & Dip Day!

If there’s one thing we here at PinkBlush have been loving lately (besides spring fashion) it’s food-related holidays. Who needs bikini season when there’s everything from national waffle day to chocolate and salted carmel appreciation hours? Food holidays help us feel festive and get into the soul food mood, bonding with friends, co-workers and loved ones over the same appreciation for delicious offerings. While March is well known for St. Patricks Day and all things green, we thought we’d share a less-appreciated yet equally yummy holiday, National Chips & Dip day!

Celebrated on March 23rd, we’re super excited about this super snacking holiday, and to get into the spirit, thought we’d share five must have chips & dip recipes that would be ideal for celebrating these amazing jubilee in perfect dipping harmony.

Baked Wonton Chips With Corn Salsa

If you’ve never tried corn salsa before, you don’t know what you’re missing out on! It’s heavenly as a topping for anything from fish tacos, or paired with traditional crisps but a larger revelation comes from this however, combining the epic corn salsa with baked wonton chips! The wonton wrappers provide a light, unmatched crunch that pairs beautifully with the corn salsa for an amazing treat that can be enjoyed year round, but especially during these springtime months. Great as a snack, or an appetizer before a seafood dish, it’s best to make double servings of these bad boys as they get snatched up quickly!

Say hello, to the dessert dip you never knew you needed in your life: homemade funfetti cake dip with homemade Teddy Grahams which together create: the ultimate homemade dunkarros! According to Kelly, the creator behind this goodness, it’s the greatest party ever in your mouth and we have to agree.
