DIY Cooling After-Sun Spray

Here at PinkBlush we love summertime – but summertime doesn’t always love us back… i.e. when we spend a little too much time enjoying the warm outdoors and end up with a painful sunburn. We can’t recommend sun protection enough, but sometimes sunburns still happen and we have a simple DIY remedy that your skin will thank you for!

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup aloe vera gel (or if you have an aloe plant, you can get fancy and make your own!)
  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil
  • 3 drops peppermint oil

aloe 1

Aloe has been a long-time post sun remedy due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Aloe is also high in vitamins B6, B12 and C which help it reduce pain and inflammation. Peppermint oil gives a refreshing cooling effect that is often used to relax muscles. Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer, it’s antibacterial and it has a mellow tropical scent that makes you feel like your on vacation. These three ingredients combined work wonders on distressed skin!

Pour all three ingredients into one bowl and mix until the gel has a frothy consistency.
